Georgia Psychiatry Medical Director
Client is in search of a dynamic Psychiatrist with a strong interest in academics to lead the establishment of a new Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education Program here in Southwest Georgia. This position would support the work of building a program, development of a training curriculum, recruitment of clinical faculty, retooling of clinical workflows to integrate residents, and providing assistance to our sites with becoming accredited in order to establish a Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education Program. The ultimate goal of the program is to help our community grow our health workforce by training psychiatrists in a community-based setting with a focus on rural and underserved communities.
Client is a southwest Georgia practice combining urban and rural practice locations in a coordinated system of care. Established in 1979 their multi-specialty practice has grown to include well trained internists, pediatricians, family practitioners, ob/gyn, midwives, optometrists, podiatrists, dentists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and advanced practitioners. Their mission is quality healthcare for everyone as they provide services to both the underserved and uninsured patients as well as to those who have coverage. They pride themselves on being accredited by the NCQA and PCMH certified.
They are deemed a Community Health Center, so they qualify for the Federal Torts Claims Act which allows their providers free malpractice insurance. They also qualify for National Health Service Corp loan repayment.
Education, Training and Experience Required:
Board certified or board eligible
Licensed in the State of Georgia or willingness to obtain license
Experience with ACGME program requirements and establishment and development of PLA's
