Finish Carpenter (Entry-Level to Master)

Job Description

Responsibilities

Install trim & molding (baseboards, crown, wainscoting, door/window casings).

Install and adjust doors (interior, exterior, barn, pocket, French).

Assist with staircases (treads, risers, handrails, balusters).

Build and install accent walls & decorative wood paneling.

Perform site prep and daily cleanup.

Read blueprints, measure, cut, and install with precision.

Repair and refinish woodwork.

Requirements by Level

Entry-Level Finish Carpenter (1–2 years experience)

1–2 years of carpentry or finish carpentry experience.

Must have basic hand tools (tape measure, hammer, nail gun, drill, level, etc.).

Able to measure, cut, and perform basic installations.

Follows directions, learns quickly, and works as part of a team.

Pay: $16 – $22/hr.

Mid-Level Finish Carpenter (3+ years experience)

3+ years of finish carpentry experience.

Proficient with carpentry tools and installation methods.

Can read blueprints, take accurate measurements, and work semi-independently.

Attention to detail and ability to problem solve on-site.

Pay: $22 – $28/hr.

Master Finish Carpenter (5+ years experience)

5+ years of proven high-end finish carpentry experience.

Must be able to work independently and lead a team.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to ensure accuracy and quality.

Owns a full set of tools and maintains professional workmanship.

Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation required.

Able to communicate clearly and manage client/PM expectations.

Pay: $28 – $35/hr (top range for exceptional leaders).
