Security by Design / Wire Works (SBDWW) has a great opportunity for an experienced Audio / Video Installation Technician to join our expanding AV team. The Installation Technician will perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projectors, installing speakers, sound masking, and other Audio/ Video industry related equipment. Safety and quality of workmanship is paramount at SBDWW.
This applicant will work with a team of technicians and management staff to integrate advanced AV systems for Commercial only customers in the New York and tristate areas.
This applicant must be self a motivated individual who can work on their own and giving direction to Level I AV technicians. This candidate must be able to professionally communicate directly with customers, think out of box and maintain a clean and professional appearance.
Essential Duties, Expectations and Responsibilities
Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projectors, monitors, speakers, and other Audio/ Video industry related equipment
Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems related tasks
Assist with basic mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring
Projector and screen support structure installations
Testing of system components to assure systems are 100% functioning
Mentor Level I Technicians
Communicate daily job site status to the Project Manager
Work with manufacturers to initiate return material authorizations as needed
Review equipment list with customer upon delivery
Travel to various job sites required

Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
Basic computer knowledge
Requirements
· Must have 3 years of direct experience with AV systems and equipment.
Able to read and understand architecture, electrical, structural & AV systems drawings
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Diagnosing/troubleshooting/resolving service issues related to integrated AV Systems
Rack fabrication and wire management
Have knowledge and experience with systems such as Crestron, Extron and AMX control systems
Have knowledge and experience with systems such as BIAMP, QSC, Polycom Sound Structure, Clearone and Crestron Audio Systems
Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video, and control
Ability to test equipment and perform troubleshooting
Must be able to train customers on the use of systems that are installed
CTS certification preferred but not required
Pass federal/state background checks
OSHA SST/40

Tools:
The Lead Installation Technician is expected to provide all required hand tools to complete their duties. This includes, but is not limited to screwdrivers, pliers, hammer, wire toner, ratchet set, and tool bag. Major installation tools will be provided by company.
