Job Description
Engineer at the Edge of Innovation
At EmergingDx Inc, we are an integrated innovation institution. Our work spans strategy, science, engineering, design, and venture development, all under one roof. Our mission: to deliver transformative technologies and systems with real-world impact across industries — from microfluidics and automation to soft robotics and intelligent platforms.
We’re seeking a Mechatronics Engineer who thrives at the intersection of disciplines. You won’t just build mechanisms or write firmware — you’ll collaborate across engineering, design, and science to invent and realize intelligent systems that shape tomorrow’s tools, infrastructure, and services.
This is an innovation without silos. Creation without compromise. If you think across domains and build with purpose, this is where you belong.
Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)
Design and develop smart electromechanical systems that combine mechanical, electrical, and software elements
Integrate sensors, actuators, motion control, and embedded intelligence into working prototypes and production systems
Rapidly iterate using agile hardware and software development methods
Develop and manage fast-paced project timelines while proactively identifying and mitigating risks
Work closely with cross-functional teams
Perform circuit and PCB design (analog/digital), motor drivers, signal conditioning, and system integration
Conduct hands-on testing, debugging, documentation, and peer design reviews.
Effectively communicate results and technical insights to clients and stakeholders through both written reports and oral presentations
Co-create within a culture that values experimentation, mentorship, and continuous learning
Craft and deliver clear, compelling narratives—both written and oral—conveying technical project progress and proposed initiatives
Desired Qualifications (What You Bring)
BS, MS, or PhD in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in cross-functional R&D environments.
Deep hands-on skills in:
Mechatronic system integration
Embedded systems (microcontrollers, real-time programming, hardware/software co-design)
Circuit design (analog/digital), motor control, power electronics
CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360), simulation (MATLAB/Simulink)
Programming (Python, C/C++, ROS)
Experience with:
PCB layout (Altium, KiCad)
Prototyping, debugging, lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
Design for manufacturing and testing (DFM/DFT)
Systems thinker with mission-driven mindset
Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments that demand creativity and initiative
Proven track record of leading R&D programs to deliver innovative, high-quality outcomes on schedule, aligned with stakeholder expectations and technical goals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bonus skills:
Fluidics, thermal systems, battery integration
Wireless protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa)
Familiarity with medical device regulations (ISO 13485, FDA standards)
Why EmergingDx
You’ll work on products, platforms, and ventures — not just features
You’ll gain ownership, mentorship, and momentum
You’ll be part of something bigger: a community shaping what’s next
We offer a competitive salary with full benefits package.
