Job Title: HVAC Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician II
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician for a client in Denver, CO. This position is responsible for the installation, repair, and skilled maintenance of HVAC systems, including water and air-cooled chillers, cooling towers, and rooftop DX air handling units (AHUs). The technician will perform both routine and emergency tasks to ensure optimal performance of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in training and complete the journeyman program in accordance with the required hours.
Troubleshoot refrigeration systems, identify necessary repairs, and perform them. For major chiller repairs, determine if outsourcing is necessary. Ensure compliance with EPA guidelines by reclaiming, evacuating, or recycling refrigerant.
Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including the handling of heavy loads and collaborating with other team members. Fabricate, repair, and install HVAC fittings, registers, venting, and piping.
Use blueprints, schematics, and building codes to diagnose issues, modify systems, and carry out repairs.
Maintain a clean and safe job site, taking into account the safety of oneself and others, and properly dispose of waste and hazardous materials.
Calibrate, install, and maintain pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls from various manufacturers.
Operate combustion control tools and equipment as part of HVAC maintenance.
Review work orders, prioritize tasks, and determine necessary supplies for repairs. Order supplies using the organization’s purchasing system.
Cross-train in at least one other trade as an apprentice.
Assist with snow removal on a 24-hour on-call basis and respond to emergencies around the clock.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
High school diploma or GED.
At least four (4) years of experience in refrigeration and HVAC systems.
Valid Colorado driver’s license that meets the organization’s insurance requirements.
Must reside in Colorado or have a permanent address within the state.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role with or without accommodations.
Compensation:
