Position Summary

The Senior Network Engineer provides technical leadership in the design, implementation, and support of enterprise network infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud environments. This role is responsible for routing, switching, wireless, and WAN technologies, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing network solutions that align with business objectives. The engineer collaborates across IT teams, drives modernization efforts, and supports ongoing operations and innovation.

Key Responsibilities Network Design & Implementation

Design LAN, WAN, data center, wireless, and hybrid cloud networks, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.

Select and configure appropriate networking protocols, technologies, and hardware (e.g., OSPF, BGP, VLANs, STP, routers, switches, firewalls).

Document network flows, diagrams, configurations, and procedures to maintain consistency and facilitate knowledge transfer.

Integrate network infrastructure seamlessly with servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and cloud services.

Security & Performance

Implement and maintain security measures such as segmentation, ACLs, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption.

Monitor network utilization, performance metrics, and compliance to ensure integrity and availability.

Research and apply industry standards, emerging technologies, and automation practices to improve efficiency and security.

Technology Leadership

Analyze current network environments, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.

Drive technology change by aligning solutions with business strategies and industry trends.

Define and support migration strategies for modernization initiatives.

Provide L4 production infrastructure support.

Collaboration & Delivery

Partner with architects, SMEs, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet evolving business needs.

Consult on infrastructure projects to ensure alignment with enterprise technology architecture.

Lead technical discussions, provide expert guidance, and deliver presentations to technical and executive audiences.

Support agile teams by advising on risks, impacts, and opportunities related to network and infrastructure decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelorâ s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years of experience in network design and implementation, with expertise in infrastructure and security.

Strong knowledge of routing/switching protocols, VPNs, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, and security services.

Familiarity with project management and agile methodologies.

Proven ability to collaborate with SMEs, business owners, and stakeholders to drive technical decisions.

Strong presentation and communication skills for both technical and executive audiences.

Skills & Competencies

Deep understanding of network architecture, integration, and security.

Knowledge of ITSM, ITIL, and enterprise technology frameworks.

Familiarity with backend development languages, databases, SaaS, and PaaS solutions.

Ability to research, test, and transition new technologies into production.

Knowledge of budgeting, financial models, and IT governance processes.

Understanding of SDLC methodologies including Agile, DevOps, and traditional models.
