OOP Development Engineer (Hong Kong)

Our client, a top-tier hedge fund, is looking for a versatile and skilled Platform Development Engineer. This unique role sits at the intersection of high-performance backend development and robust, scalable infrastructure operations. You will be responsible for building the core services that power our products and ensuring the underlying platform is reliable, efficient, and observable. This is an excellent opportunity to own the full lifecycle of our platform, from API design to cluster stability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Backend & Core Services Development: Design, build, and optimize core backend services and APIs for data management, task scheduling, and service orchestration.

- System Architecture & Design: Contribute to the design of our microservices architecture, multi-tenant systems, and middle-office capabilities, including permission systems and service orchestration.

- Platform Reliability & Observability:

-- Ensure the high availability, performance, and scalability of our big data stack (e.g., Spark, Flink, Kafka) and core services.

-- Design and implement a comprehensive observability stack using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK for monitoring, alerting, and log analysis.

-- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for system faults.

- Automation & DevOps:

-- Develop automated tools and scripts (Python/Go) for deployment, scaling, configuration management, and operational tasks.

-- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable seamless and reliable deployments.

-- Champion infrastructure as code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform and Ansible.

What We're Looking For (Requirements):

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- 3+ years of experience in a backend development, SRE, or platform engineering role.

- Proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Java, Go, Python) and common frameworks.

- Strong experience with databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), caching (Redis), and API design.

- Solid understanding of distributed systems, containerization (Docker/K8s), and microservices.

- Hands-on experience with operational tooling for monitoring (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana), logging (e.g., ELK), and automation.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, with clear logical thinking and strong communication abilities.

Ideal Candidates Will Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

- Experience in designing multi-tenant systems or middle-office platforms.

- Knowledge of model servitization (e.g., OpenAI API, vLLM) or data stream processing.

- Experience with big data components (Hadoop/YARN, Spark, Flink, Kafka, DolphinScheduler).

- A background in managing large-scale (100+ node) clusters or high-concurrency systems.

- Full-stack development capabilities are a plus.
