Job Description Job Title: Quality Lab CMM Operator Job Description The Quality Lab Operator will primarily be responsible for checking incoming parts from various suppliers as well as internal fabricated parts.

Each unit comes with a checklist of items to be inspected.

This role involves entering information into a laptop based on findings and using various inspection tools to ensure quality standards are met.

ResponsibilitiesInspect incoming parts from suppliers and internally fabricated parts.Use a checklist to verify each unit against quality standards.Enter inspection findings into a laptop.Utilize CMM, faro arm, micrometers, calipers, gauges, wire harness testers, and optical comparators.Perform defect tracing to identify parts issues, assembler mistakes, and potential preventive measures.Work with the quality manager to determine root causes of defects.Utilize the Hexagon program to set up and operate CMM (training provided).Complete Supplier Quality Documentation for incoming parts.

Essential SkillsExperience in inspection and quality control.Willing to train on CMM inspection equipment, but candidates must be comfortable on a computerProficiency in reading blueprints.Attention to detail and strong communication skills.Ability to perform visual inspections using calipers and micrometers.General labor and quality check experience.Ability to read and write clearly.

Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with manufacturing GD&T is preferred.Experience with CMM or automated QC equipment is preferred but not required.Hobbies in machining, woodworking, 3D printing, or computer building are advantageous.Ability to stand for the entire shift.Willingness to train on paperwork and audit processes.Understanding of part numbers and locations.

Work Environment The role is based primarily in a quality lab, with occasional requirements to go out on the floor to retrieve parts or address issues.

The work schedule is Monday to Thursday, from 6 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., with occasional overtime on Fridays.

The job follows the assembly line schedule but includes additional time for audits, reporting, and incoming part inspection assistance.

Safety gear, including steel-toed boots and safety glasses, is required.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
