JOB OVERVIEW:
The Luxury Leisure Sales Manager will prospect, manage and develop key accounts for a sales territory structured by defined markets. They will work closely with Preferred Hotels and Resorts, Hotel Phoenix Global Sales representation, in prospecting and securing leisure business. Meet & exceed individual room revenue goals. Negotiate rates and hotel services within hotel revenue guidelines. Develop actions plans for account solicitation and maintenance in defined markets. Entertain hotel clients both on and off property.
Execute plans for representing the hotel on site visits and sales calls (phone & in market) for repeat and new accounts. Attending required tradeshows, industry events as well as internal meetings. Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings about best practices. Always represent Hotel Phoenix in the highest professional manner. Weekend and evening work is required at times.
REPORTS TO: Director of Sales and Marketing
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Sales Managers, Director of Sales & Marketing, Executive Committee Members, all Department Managers and Assistants.
External: Hotel guests/visitors, civic organizations, meeting planners, media, travel industry, food and wine industry, trade associations, other hotel executives, vendors, owners representatives, corporate office personnel.QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
Must have a minimum of two to three years’ previous experience as a successful Leisure Sales Manager at a Boutique/luxury/4-5 Star hotel, preferably in Atlanta.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications; Excel, Word, Outlook and Sales database systems.
Communicate clearly and effectively with guests, clients and co-workers in both written and verbal forms.
Prioritize and organize and perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
Be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
Understand guest’s service needs.
Be a Team player with a passion for sale and work cohesively with co-workers
Work with minimal supervision.
To travel as needed for sales calls, tradeshows and industry events.
Desirable:
Experience with computers and Microsoft Office, Sales Data, PMS
Fluency in a foreign language.
Previous guest relations training.
Familiarity with statistical reports.
Understand market segmentation, yield and inventory management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Execute sales activities to achieve budgeted goals.
Assist in the annual budgeting plan; provide market intelligence and forecast information of key and target accounts within assigned vertical markets.
Aggressively build and maintain professional and active relationships with clients, referral sites, Preferred Hotels and Resorts as well as other key sources as lead generators.
Negotiate with clients and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying clients’ needs.
Communicate effectively with hotel stakeholders to ensure client’s needs and expectations are satisfied.
Open and ongoing communication with Preferred Hotels and Resorts about shared key and target accounts.
Maintain files by proper and expedient client documentation, including adherence to logging client contact information, sales activities and maintaining files with active, timely trace dates.
Support and plan special sales activities, promotions, client events and tradeshows.
Problem solve with other departments as needed to book business into the hotel.
Enlist senior management and leverage relationships to interact with tentative or prospective clients to secure business.
Enhance the hotel’s community’s image by actively participating in associations, events, clubs or boards.
Monitor hotel competition - new developments, services and amenities, to ensure that Hotel Phoenix competitive knowledge and strategy are current.
Assume active ownership of assigned sales territory and respond to specific market needs.
Initiate and lead market action. Provide suggestions to sales leadership to help maintain or increase market presence and market share within select vertical markets.
Perform all responsibilities in a timely and efficient fashion, following established policy and projecting a favorable image of the hotel.
Discuss, support and innovate key service and product differentiators on an ongoing basis.
Complies with hotel standards for sales while working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and executive committee.
Perform tasks and projects that support client schedules and sales revenue achievement such as assisting with telephone volume, walk-in site inspections, and evening and weekend appointments.
Excellent product knowledge of hotel facilities, capacities and room dimensions as well as to have same knowledge of competitive hotels.
Plan and/or attend and/or participate in designated hotel meetings such as Sales Meetings, Group Pace, Revenue, etc.
Highly motivated and flexible, possessing the ability to take initiative, to succeed under pressure and meet deadlines.
Incisive analytical skills, as well as excellent problem recognition and resolution skills as well as the ability to objectively communicate troublesome spots ahead to the hotel’s senior leadership.
Knowledge of Sales, Reservation and Room’s distribution functions.
Knowledge of Agency and Demand 360 etc.
Attend relevant internal meetings such as Resume Meeting, BEO, Sales Meeting, All Managers Meetings.
Attend Sales Roadshows, Tradeshows and other business travel as required.
Participate in daily business review meetings, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required.
All other responsibilities assigned by management.
Advanced level of producing business transient revenue through directly soliciting business via aggressive prospecting, making presentations, developing contracts, negotiating, and closing sales
Full-time
