Your role at Clorox:
The Sensory & Consumer Researcher II is responsible for designing sensory experiments to answer business questions. They will consult with R&D scientists to understand research needs, manage project execution, conduct statistical analysis, generate reports, and share findings with business partners. They will develop new sensory protocols and train panelists on these protocols to ensure high quality actionable data.
In this role, you will:
Consult with R&D scientists and Insights researchers to understand research needs and communicate findings.
Conduct data analysis, interpret results, and create reports including business implications and recommended next steps.
Develop protocols for new sensory and consumer research methods.
Primarily support Sensory research; provide support for Consumer research as needed.
Intake research requests, design studies, and interface with R&D and Insights for both complex and routine projects.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
Utilize specialized data collection software to design questionnaires and collect sensory data for both complex and routine projects.
Control research costs through cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality research.
Supervise CLC lab staff to ensure quality-controlled research execution.
Lead sensory panels using standard and cutting-edge sensory test methodologies.
Track panelist performance, provide feedback, and validate testing methods.
Coach and mentor junior sensory and consumer staff members.
Ensure a positive and safe testing experience for trained panelists at all times.
What we look for:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science or relevant sensory coursework.
5+ years of relevant sensory and consumer research experience.
Strong statistical understanding with the ability to interpret results in a business context.
Experience conducting non-routine sensory statistical analyses and creating clear visualizations of key findings.
Ability to independently design experiments to answer research questions.
Panel leadership experience, including training and mentoring panelists.
Comfortable pivoting quickly between business priorities and projects.
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrates consumer empathy and applies insights to research outcomes.
Adaptable, able to work in ambiguous situations, and possesses agile problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively with GI Researchers, R&D teams, consumers, and trained panelists.
