Role Description
The General Manager, Nunavut Relations is a senior leadership position dedicated to furthering the company’s strategic objectives in Nunavut. This role plays a critical part in enhancing Northwestel’s profile by fostering productive relationships with both territorial and federal stakeholders.
The General Manager will lead initiatives to increase revenue growth and sales while also focusing on building strong community partnerships. As a result, Northwestel will be positioned as a trusted partner in delivering advanced digital infrastructure and telecommunications services throughout Nunavut.
Qualifications
Recognized undergraduate degree in business, commerce, political science or a related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or strategic sales, preferably in telecom or infrastructure sectors. Alternate combinations of education and experience may be considered and interested individuals are encouraged to apply.
Proven track record of influencing public policy and securing government funding or contracts.
Deep understanding of Nunavut’s political, cultural, and economic landscape.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and storytelling skills.
Experience working with Indigenous governments and communities is essential.
Complete proficiencyin speaking, reading, and writing Inuktitut ishighly desirable.
