Position: Contract Counselor (In person services only)

Department: Clinical Services

Reports to: Director of Clinical Services

Position Summary

When children join our family, their needs are great. Often, continued crises within their family of origin causes great stress, and all children that come to us need to work through not only past pain, but the very real anxiety a new home and new people bring. Working closely with the Houseparents and Program Team, the Counselor leads our efforts to address these issues and is an important part of a holistic approach to the health and well-being of our children. The Counselor will report to the Director of Clinical Services and will be an integral part of the Program Team.

Roles and Responsibilities

Provide individual, sibling, family, and group counseling sessions

Input counseling session notes within 48 hours of session

Create and update client Treatment Plans quarterly

Administer Clinical Assessments as needed

Weekly consultation with Clinical Director about clients on case load

Consultation with Houseparents and Case Managers as necessary.Critical Skill Sets

Significant experience working in a clinical capacity with children and families, specifically children that have experienced trauma and/or separation from family.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree from accredited university

Clinical licensure such as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT

Minimum of 2 years working with children and families in a counseling capacity

Fully proficient in Microsoft Office Environment

Ability to work flexible evening hours

Must be cleared through a criminal background and FBI finger print investigation

All staff who have contact with students must be tested for tuberculosis before the staff is assigned a responsibility to care for students

Must be cleared through a drug test panel.
