Job Summary:

We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Barn Loader to join our team at the lumber barn. This role is essential in ensuring efficient loading and unloading of materials, assisting customers with their purchases, cutting lumber to specified lengths, and maintaining the organization of the barn area. The Barn Loader will work closely with other barn staff to facilitate smooth operations and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Loading & Unloading: Safely and efficiently load lumber, hardware, and building materials into customer vehicles and store transport.

Customer Assistance: Help customers locate and select materials, ensuring proper handling and loading procedures.

Lumber Cutting: Use appropriate tools and equipment to cut lumber to specified lengths and angles per customer requests.

Inventory Control: Maintain organization within the barn, restocking supplies and reporting low stock levels.

Safety & Compliance: Follow proper lifting techniques, equipment handling procedures, and workplace safety regulations.

Equipment Operation: Assist in operating forklifts, saws, and other material-handling equipment as needed.

Collaboration: Work with barn cashiers, foreman, and loaders to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience: Prior experience in warehouse or material handling preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

Customer Service: Friendly and professional approach when assisting customers.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with lumber, hardware, and building materials, including proper cutting techniques.

Equipment Proficiency: Ability to safely operate saws and cutting tools for lumber preparation.

Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain barn organization and restock as needed.

Safety Awareness: Understanding of workplace safety procedures and proper handling techniques.
