The Opportunity

The Ally Auto Dealer Training Team/Ally Academy supports Allys core Auto Finance business by providing virtual and in-person instructor-led training to our dealer customers nationwide. We are seeking an automotive professional to join our team as an L&D Senior Specialist. This individual will be responsible for facilitating training for retail automobile dealers on all topics related to dealership operations, ranging from Variable and Fixed Ops management training, compliance training, sales & lease training, etc. and will have experience in the automotive retail environment. The L&D Senior Specialist will also facilitate and execute learning experiences in support of building Ally employee dealer customer acumen and will observe and coach Auto L&D facilitators to ensure the ongoing development and success of our team. The right candidate must be willing to travel extensively, must be tech savvy, and must be willing and able to work with dealers and internal matrix partners to identify and support needs for training. Location: remote in any of the 50 states. However, if you live near an Ally office, expectation is a hybrid role - 3 days in office / 2 days remote. This is preferred.

The Work Itself

Participate in Train the Trainer (T3) events to learn and understand how to deliver each course

Manage logistics regarding training events ranging from travel to classroom supplies, room setup, pre & post communications, etc.

Facilitate Ally Academy Training Courses effectively and within established guidelines

Leverage Zoom, PowerPoint, Turning Technologies, Salesforce, Teams, and other technologies to facilitate training and document training information/statistics

Manage time/calendar to support overall objectives, while maintaining schedule to keep up with supporting tasks when not facilitating

Maintain 95%+ Top 2 Box Survey Results from End-of-Course Surveys

Function as a SME during development of new courses or adjustments to existing material

Evaluate course effectiveness through end of course evaluations, participant comprehension, and operational metrics, recommending necessary content revisions

Network internally with matrix teams and externally with dealer customer to identify opportunities/needs for training

Attend matrix meetings to stay in touch and align with their needs

Work within the team to support the business and overall objectives

Align with Allys culture, core values, and manage risk appropriately

The Skills You Bring

5+ years retail automotive experience required, including extensive experience with dealership financials and financial reports

Experience working with Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Zoom, CRMs, DMSs, and other technologies

Ability to travel 50-75%

Effectively practices high stakes conversation tactics.

Ability to effectively facilitate large groups, in face-to-face or virtual environments, leveraging different facilitation methods and techniques.

Strong content organization skills: presentations are well-structured, informative, and use visuals effectively.

Ability to analyze, infer, and evaluate information independently, proactively proposing creative solutions that consider end-to-end results.

Demonstrated ability to adjust work processes and outputs in response to or anticipation of changes in goals, standards, resources, processes, and/or time.

Ability to apply ones own previous learning to future experiences.

Demonstrates adept decision-making skills, often in complex situations.

Strong interpersonal skills, inspires and mentors team members to reach full potential.

Exhibits capacity to think strategically and align team goals with organizational objectives.

Experience in fast paced, matrix organization requiring an ability to operate successfully amidst change and transformation.

Understanding of learning and development principles and training methodologies preferred.

Virtual learning and in-person facilitation experience preferred.

3+ years industry experience in Learning & Development preferred.

Base Pay Range: An individual's position in the range is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
