The role is responsible for delivering primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, dispensing medications, and performing health assessments and screenings.
The nurse will play a key role in promoting employee health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care for occupational and non-occupational injuries/illnesses.
Dispense over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
Conduct health assessments, screenings, and tests (e.g., drug and alcohol testing, spirometry, audiometry). Maintain accurate OSHA, state, and internal health records.
Assist with workers’ compensation processes and documentation.
Promote and assist with health education and wellness initiatives.
Ensure compliance with modified/restricted duty work requirements through on-site evaluations.
Participate in safety and ergonomic programs.
Walk plant areas, climb stairs, and use ladders as needed to monitor workplace health and safety.
Requirements: Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN). Current license to practice nursing in the state of Arkansas.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; experience in occupational health is preferred.
CPR and First Aid Instructor Certification preferred.
Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Basic computer proficiency (email, word processing, spreadsheets); familiarity with Tyson Business Computer System is a plus.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk throughout the plant, including stairs and ladders, to ensure compliance with workplace health requirements.
