Ideastream Public Media, a Cleveland-based media organization and home to Ohio’s largest NPR, PBS and classical radio stations, serving 22 counties in Northeast Ohio with its trusted, in-depth, high-quality local news and information service seeks a multimedia storyteller to join The Ohio Channel team in Columbus to serve as a Producer. Reporting to the Supervising Producer, the Producer is responsible for directing live events and conceptualizing, writing, producing, shooting, and editing video segments and creative content for distribution on television, web, and social media. In this role, you will prepare and direct live/taped public affairs content for air on The Ohio Channel and for the web, assist with scheduling and pre-production duties relative to government proceedings, and coordinate special projects for state agencies, boards, and commissions. This position is also responsible for operating studio cameras and equipment and implementing full production workflows for live, live-to-tape, and pre-produced programs.

Qualified candidates will have proficiency with program directing, lighting, and videography and demonstrated knowledge of editing techniques using Adobe Creative Cloud applications and the ability to archive footage using a Digital Asset Management System (CatDV or similar). A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in broadcast television, production, or a related discipline is preferred, though an equivalent of experience in related fields and education will be considered. Strong organizational, time management, communication, and decision-making skills are also required. The salary range for this position is $52,000 - $56,000 and is commensurate with experience.
