Summary of Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax & Accounting & Advisory Manager to join our growing team. This leadership role is responsible for managing client engagements, overseeing financial reporting and tax compliance, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in accounting and taxation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service in a fast-paced advisory environment.

Essential Functions

Client Advisory & Relationship Management

Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of high-level client relationships.

Build and maintain long-term client partnerships, providing strategic guidance to help them achieve their business and personal financial goals.

Identify and develop opportunities for additional value-added services for existing clients.

Assist in the onboarding process for new clients, assessing their comprehensive tax and accounting needs.

Tax Compliance & Strategy

Oversee the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.

Conduct tax research and provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to minimize liability and ensure compliance.

Manage and respond to IRS and state agency audits, notices, and inquiries.

Financial Reporting & Accounting Oversight

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and bookkeeping processes for clients.

Review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Provide clients with financial insight and data-driven guidance to support strategic decision-making.

Team Leadership & Development

Manage, mentor, and hold accountable a team of accounting professionals.

Review work product for quality, accuracy, and adherence to firm standards.

Provide training, support, and constructive feedback to foster team growth.

Participate in the recruitment and performance evaluation processes for the team.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience within a public accounting or advisory firm.

An active CPA certification is required.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's in Taxation is highly preferred.

Comprehensive, hands-on knowledge of U.S. tax code, GAAP, and financial reporting standards.

Proven proficiency with industry-standard accounting and tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, UltraTax, or similar platforms).

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong client relationships.

Superior organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines and client needs effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

Competitive base salary: $120,000-$150,000 per year
