Job Title: Research Advisory Services Scientist (Hybrid)

Classification: RESEARCH SCIENTIST III (EPIDEMIOLOGY/BIOSTATISTICS) or RESEARCH SCIENTIST III (SOCIAL BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES)

Working Title: Research Advisory Services Scientist (Hybrid)

Location: Sacramento County

Work Type: Permanent, Full Time

Telework: Hybrid (up to three days per week telework; minimum of two days in person). Telework details subject to DHCS policies and Government Code sections .

Salary: $8,045.00 - $10,364.00

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Responsibilities

Under general direction of the Research Scientist Supervisor II, plan, organize, and direct epidemiology/biostatistics scientific research studies of highly developed scientific scope for the Research Advisory Services Section.

Apply epidemiology, biostatistics, survey techniques, theoretical models, and research methods to assess the impact of Medi-Cal policies and programs on eligibility, access, quality, utilization, health outcomes and expenditures in the context of disparities/equity and population health.

Act as a resource / team lead to management and research staff for complex advanced research, statistical analysis, and data linkage related to data collection, reporting, and implementation of evidence-based programs and best practices to reduce health disparities and improve health, quality of care, and cost outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

RESEARCH SCIENTIST III (EPIDEMIOLOGY/BIOSTATISTICS)

RESEARCH SCIENTIST III (SOCIAL BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES)

Desirable Qualifications

Experience with research, analysis, data management, and visualization of quantitative data.

Expertise with analytic software such as SAS, SQL, R Script, Python, and ArcGIS.

Ability to design and implement health services research and data strategies.
