Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Temporary)

Position Summary:

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Strategic Sourcing Specialist to assist our clients’ Supply Chain Procurement team in addressing an influx in RFQ’s and supplier delivery expedites. The successful candidate will be key to increasing our operational efficiency and supplier on-time delivery metric while working under tight deadlines. Compensation: $38.00 - $43.00 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships by adhering to high ethical standards and fair business practices. Drive on-time delivery by proactively managing the procurement pipeline.

Manage multiple Requests for Quotations (RFQs) across various part numbers and commodities, including production materials sourced to CAD specifications.

Review and analyze RFQs to ensure alignment with customer and company requirements.

Expeditiously handles properly authorized emergency and rush procurements.

Obtain accurate quotations from suppliers that meet quality and capability standards.

Ensure technical requirements, delivery schedules, procurement principles are consistently met.

Document procurement files to demonstrate compliance with effective and economical purchasing practices, including government purchasing standards and contract terms.

Review contractual terms and conditions to safeguard the company’s best interests, particularly in government and domestic compliance contexts.

Perform extensive data entry with accuracy to support the procurement process, including open order reports and proposal tracking.

Maintain continuous communication with suppliers, providing updates on award progress and ensuring pricing and execution capabilities remain valid until purchase orders are placed.

Implement process improvements, enhance standard work instructions, and streamline procedures to improve proposal response times.

Follow all company purchasing policies and procedures. · Regularly report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and communicate procurement activity progress.

Collaborate with planning, proposal, and supplier quality engineering teams to ensure sourcing alignment and supplier readiness.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships by adhering to high ethical standards and fair business practices.

Review and analyze RFQs to ensure alignment with customer and company requirements.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant procurement software (experience with Visual ERP preferred, transitioning to Oracle).

2–3 years of experience in strategic sourcing or purchasing, ideally within a government-regulated environment.

Strong attention to detail, ability to build sourcing processes, and comfort navigating 120+ open proposals and frequent expedites.

Ability to negotiate effectively and ask the right questions regarding terms and conditions, supplier capabilities, and proposal requirements.

Education is not required; experience and sourcing acumen are prioritized.

Pay Details: $38.00 to $43.00 per hour
