Job Summary:
Qualifications:
Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal and written communication. Must have basic computer skills. Must have valid Driver's License with good driving record.
Organizational Expectations:
1. Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of instruments, supplies, and equipment following infection control practices.
2. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
3. Must be conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with others.
4. Ensure positive response to the patients’, physicians’, and team members’ needs.
5. Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties.
6. Function under supervision of Surgical Services Coordinator and/or CSR Supervisor.
Consistently demonstrates appropriate quantity of work as evidenced by:
1. Completing all assigned duties.
2. Accepting additional assignments willingly; delegating functions according to needs of the unit and staff.
3. Adapting to change and prioritizing work.
4. Assisting staff members to complete tasks in a timely manner.
5. Participates in quality measures as indicated by performance dashboard results.
Exhibits knowledge of job and pursues professional growth, judgment and decision-making as evidenced by:
1. Completes Health Stream assignments in a timely manner.
2. Maintaining current unit specific competencies.
3. Assisting with orientation of staff members and the teaching of students as needed.
4. Seeking/soliciting the help of or guidance from immediate supervisor or appropriate resource person.
5. Performing duties in an independent manner with little or no direct supervision.
6. Participates as a preceptor as needed.
Essential Functions/ Assigned Tasked.
Demonstrating attendance and reliability as evidenced by:
1. Willing to adjust personal schedule in case of a real department need (work late, work extra shift).
2. Being on time and ready to work at the start of the shift.
3. Rotating shifts as required including weekends and holidays.
4. Utilizing ID badge to clock in and out.
5. Attending work with minimal occurrences.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and perform overhead lifting as needed. Ability to li ft and carry items weighing more than 50 lbs.
