Sock Monkey Museum is a small, family friendly Museum holding the Guinness World Record title for the largest handmade Sock Monkey Collection in the world! We share the history of the Sock Monkey doll and its ties to Illinois and American History.

We have a unique Gift Shop, and a Workshop, where guests can make their own Sock Monkeys.

Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and responsible Manager to join our team. As a Manager, you will be responsible for greeting visitors as they come in, giving tours in our Museum when needed, and ensuring all visitors have a fun and positive experience. You may work behind the register ringing up sales when needed, assisting guests with questions and purchases, responsible for ordering stock, overseeing inventory, scheduling employee shifts. You will be managing the online shop on our website, fulfilling orders. You may assist with parties, tour groups, interacting with customers and helping them with our stuffable animals during their visits.

There would be flex hours with varying schedule - some weekdays, some weekends. 4-5 days a week

Responsibilities

Comply with all operating standards and procedures pertaining to the daily operation and management of the Museum/Store

Stock shelves as needed and assist with keeping track of and ordering inventory

Greet customers warmly and develop rapport to encourage repeat business

Foster a positive work environment

Qualifications

College degree preferred

Previous retail management experience is a plus

Competent computer skills

Excellent team building and leadership skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
