Description:

The purpose of a Fitter is to assemble metal parts using welding techniques and equipment.Requirements:

Responsibilities

Operate hand grinders as needed

Understanding how to properly clean and prep material before fitting

Ability to use basic fabricating tools

Knowledge of a variety of hand tools and welding equipment.

Ability to interpret blueprints and design

Ability to add, subtract, and divide into all units of measures

Follow all safety rules and practices and safety protocols

Address fitting issues

Clean/finish welded surfaces

Ensure compliance with industry standards

Fit/align metal components accurately

Read/interpret welding symbols/drawings

Prepare metal materials

Prepare Weld Joints

Other duties assigned as needed

Skills and Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Must have communications skills

Must pass a fitter test

Must have understanding of MIG welding

Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs

Ability to read and follow welding symbols on blueprints

Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner to support a team environment

Work Schedule

Monday - Thursday

10hr shifts

6am-4:30pm (days)

4:30pm-2:30am (nights)
