Job Description

West Central Community Action seeks a Family Services Coordinator in Harlan Iowa for the Head Start/Early Head Start Program covering WCCA'S ten-county service area.

The Family Service Coordinator oversees the ERSEA component area of the Head Start & Early Head Start programs. Duties include helping facilitate and manage the enrollment and recruitment of children, compiling selection criteria, determining eligibility for Head Start & Early Head Start Services, and monitoring attendance of enrollees.

Duties of this position include monitoring research-based curriculum, implementing, recruiting, and educating staff, families, and educators. This role will also educate and refer families to other programs or agencies. This position will act as an advocate for families toward self-reliance. The Family Services Coordinator will ensure that family and community partnership services occur in accordance with WCCA Head Start Service Area Plan and Head Start Performance Standards by scheduling, tracking, and monitoring service delivery.

Bachelor's degrees in human services, Family Services, Counseling or Social Work and two years applicable experience are ideal and required. Previous supervisory experience is required. A current valid driver's license and auto liability insurance are required for this position.

The WCCA Family Services Coordinator must be an excellent communicator, have dependable transportation, be able to maintain accurate and confidential files. Ideal candidate must have strong case management and record keeping skills, along with the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

This position is 40 hours per week and is a year-round position with benefits that include health, dental, life, vacation, sick & holiday pay, IPERS and 403(B) retirement programs.
