About The Position We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in Oklahoma beginning Oct 1, 2025.
This position offers full-time, 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, providing comprehensive healthcare services in a correctional environment.
The assignment involves supporting patient care needs while ensuring compliance with facility protocols and security requirements.
Job Details Location: Oklahoma Start Date: Oct 1, 2025 LOA: 60 days Provider Type Needed: Family Nurse Practitioner Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week Responsibilities and Duties Provide comprehensive nursing care, including executing physician orders, administering medications, and performing patient examinations and treatments Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess clinical problems and healthcare needs Document physical findings, formulate prognoses, and collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop patient care plans Recommend appropriate medications and treatments within licensure scope Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and facilitate early release when appropriate Ensure cleanliness and safety of work area and equipment Oversee the provision of required contractual healthcare services Maintain effective working relationships with facility staff, contract providers, and outside agencies Utilize established corporate and facility policies while exercising independent judgment Evaluate medical service provision to prevent unnecessary or duplicate services Maintain strict confidentiality and security of medical records Monitor and respond to potential catastrophic illnesses Recommend methods to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness in health services Audit pharmacy use for compliance with formulary and pharmacy laws Observe and document inmate/resident behavior Accept on-call responsibilities as required Provide health counseling and education individually or in groups Interpret and process medical, technical, and legal documents as needed Support legal processes by reviewing charts and attending court hearings when necessary Communicate effectively with administration, staff, inmates/residents, and the public, maintaining diplomacy and sound judgment Attend staff and committee meetings to promote communication and quality care Work in confined areas, including rotating shifts and physical security checks Evaluate and recommend physical safety requirements for patient and staff safety Additional Information Minimum 1 year of APP experience required US citizenship required for ICE clearance; expedited clearance process available Social security card and driver’s license required for facility clearance Universal cover page, vendor-neutral resume/CV, and license primary source verification required for submittal Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
