Lismore and Casino Community Corrections,

Location: Lismore and Casino Community Corrections

Salary: Clerk Grade 5/6 ($99, 938 pa to $110,270 pa) plus Employer’s contribution to Superannuation and Annual Leave Loading

Position Type: Talent Pool Creation for Ongoing and Temporary Full-Time roles and Part-Time roles.

Training: Paid training with a Certificate IV in Correctional Practice

Your role

As a Community Corrections Officer, you will join a dedicated and dynamic team focused on offender rehabilitation and enhancing community safety. In this role, you will collaborate with individuals under supervision to develop and implement rehabilitative strategies, monitor progress toward established goals, and conduct home visits to ensure compliance with conditions. You will benefit from a supportive work environment and opportunities to engage in staff activities, all while making a meaningful impact in the community.

What you’ll do

Community Corrections Officers are trained to provide case management for offenders being supervised on community-based orders such as Parole Orders, Intensive Corrections Orders and Community Corrections Orders and work with offenders in custody to prepare for their release into the community on parole.

This role offers extensive training opportunities and pathways for career advancement. If you have a strong interest in writing, enjoy collaborating with a dedicated team, and working with a variety of stakeholders, this position may be a great fit for you.

Successful candidates will be required to complete a mandatory four-week, in-person, paid training program at our Brush Farm Academy, which is a key component of the Certificate IV in Correctional Practice curriculum.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity in all interactions.

Experience in case management, along with high resilience, strong motivation, and a proactive, positive attitude.

Ability to thrive in a challenging environment while applying cultural sensitivity and awareness.

Develop and implement effective strategies while demonstrating decisiveness in managing emotionally charged situations and addressing complex or controversial issues.
