Tends mixing machine which mixes lead oxide, water, acid and other ingredients into paste for lead acid storage battery grids.

Responsibilities

Tends mixing machine that mixes lead oxide powder, water, and acid into paste for storage battery paste.Starts the automatic fill to fill water, acid, and oxide to desired level.Monitors digital readouts on computer to insure the proper levels.At times takes 1 or 2 buckets weighing 40-50 lbs. of residual paste from hopper to mixer to be recycled with the paste mixture.Pushes button to send paste down chute for the past machine hopper.To insure the quality of the product, tests sample of paste for temperature, solidity, and density using probe thermometer, penetrometer, and gram scale and then records results.*Maintains regular attendance.*Ability to work mandatory over time.Performs other duties as requested by Management.Responsible for producing a high quality product.Responsible for proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices.Equal Opportunity Employer/VEVRAA.*These tasks are considered essential elements of the job.
