Overview

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center are seeking a Urologic Oncologist to join the Department of Urology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position overview: a full-time faculty member on the tenure or clinical track, who is a respected clinician, educator, and researcher with impact in the field of Urology. The qualified applicant should have Urologic Oncology fellowship training and experience in patient care delivery, research, and teaching of residents, medical students, and/or fellows.

Department/Division Overview

The Department of Urology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is nationally recognized for delivering high-quality care. Our mission is patient-centered care, discovery, and educational innovation. The department has six divisions with 30 faculty members and performs over 27,000 clinical and operative procedures annually. Urology was ranked #28 in the 2025 US News & World Report Rankings. Fellows include Urologic Oncology and Endourology; Pennsylvanian hospital sponsors Pediatric Urology fellowship. Clinical care, research, education, and community service are major priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

The scope includes diagnosis, consultation, and treatment of adult patients with genitourinary disorders in office, ambulatory, and hospital settings, with a focus on Urologic Oncology. The successful candidate must have expertise in minimally invasive surgical approaches to standard and complex genitourinary malignancies.

Qualifications/Requirements

MD, DO or equivalent

Residency trained in Urology within an ACGME-accredited program

Fellowship training in Urologic Oncology

Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Urology

Licensed or license eligible to practice in Ohio

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with residents, fellows, faculty, and other stakeholders

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects

Commitment to high standards of resident education and a positive learning environment

Demonstrated expertise and experience in urology with a track record of publications and presentations

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank): titles include assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, and professor-clinical. These faculty are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. Their focus includes clinical care, teaching, and possibly research.

Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank): titles include assistant professor, associate professor, or professor eligible for or holding tenure. Primary focus is research, service, and teaching; clinical care may be part of duties.

Research Faculty (regardless of rank): titles include research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty are not eligible for tenure and focus on research.
