Senior Design Engineer API Equipment (Choke and manifold

We are currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer who specializes in choke and manifold design per API 6A & API 16C to join our dynamic engineering team.

This is a critical role for an experienced professional with a robust understanding of API 6A/16C standards and the design of chokes and manifolds.

Only experienced professionals in this specialty will be considered.

Key Responsibilities • Design and development of pressure control equipment per API 6A and 16C standards (choke valves and manifolds). • Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs using Inventor, Vault or similar CAD tools.

• Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other mechanical calculations to validate designs.

• Ensure compliance with API 6A, ASME Section VIII, and customer-specific requirements.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain teams.

• Provide engineering support for prototype testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Participate in and/or lead design reviews, DFMEAs, and engineering change processes.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of internal engineering standards and best practices.

• Assist in preparing technical documentation, including material specifications, test procedures, and certification packages.

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required); Master’s preferred.

• 7 + experience in mechanical design engineering in the oil & gas industry.

• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with API 6A product design and certification processes.

• Proficiency in INVENTOR, VAULT, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, MathCAD, etc.). • Strong understanding of designing equipment per ASME Section VIII boiler and pressure vessel code • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, API 6A, and API Q1 standards is a must • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, heat treatment, etc.). • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
