Paint Shop Assistant/ Painter Assistant

We are seeking a Paint Shop Assistant/Painter Assistant in Madison, AL Title: Painter Assistant 1st Shift Location: Madison, AL 35803 Duration : Temp to hire/Full time Pay rate : $18/hr.

Note :Must have prior experience in autobody environment, Bondo experience is helpful, knowledge of PPG paint system a plus.

Monday-Thursday 7:30AM-4:30PM Fridays 7:30am-2:00pm - (Weekly Overtime Hours - 5:00 am arrival)/Saturday-Overtime 7:30AM-12:00PM Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Painter Assistant for our client in Madison; AL Candidate will be using standard tools & methods, prepares ambulance modular boxes & other components for painting.

Responsibilities Prepares areas for painting on aluminum boxes and Chassis in an automotive manufacturing shop environment (hot/cold/dusty). Tapes area for paint, working with Painter to correct defects in painted surfaces.

Will have the opportunity to advance if capable to layout stripes, install lettering& perform spot-ins on painted surfaces.

Requirements Must be able to accurately read and use a tape measure ( assessment will be given) Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are required.

HS Diploma or GED preferred.

Must be able to read and write.

Ability to follow instructions, multi-task, and work under time constraints Must have a good attitude and strong work ethic, have good attendance & be available for Overtime.

Ability to discern texture, color & shading.

Must have prior experience in autobody environment, Bondo experience is helpful, knowledge of PPG paint system a plus.
