Structural Engineer

Company Overview

Full service mid-sized engineering consulting firm located in Columbus, Ohio offering services to industrial and commercial clients nationwide. The majority of the industrial services have been provided to clients in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industry requiring process and facility design, construction guidance, and startup assistance. A project driven work environment that is fast paced yet friendly and casual while focusing on client satisfaction. The client base is 90% industrial and 10% commercial work.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer with 5+ years of experience in commercial and/or industrial building design. A good candidate is a proven self-starter with strong technical skills, able to recognize client needs and develop effective solutions. This Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing duties on assigned projects including:

• Perform structural design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures

• Develop construction documents including drawings, details, and specifications

• Coordinate designs with other disciplines including architectural, mechanical, and electrical teams

• Perform field investigations and assessments of existing structures

• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration support

• Participate in client meetings and provide technical guidance

• Ensure that work complies with applicable codes and standards

• Manage tasks to meet project schedules and budgets

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

• 5+ years of structural engineering experience on commercial/industrial projects

• Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA, RAM, STAAD)

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD preferred

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Willing to travel to client construction sites as needed

• Willing to work overtime as needed
