Location: Washington

Grade: 6

What you’ll be doing:

Develop new or existing manufacturing processes following company and regulatory standards

To ensure the provision and authorisation of the identification, justification, planning and project management of capital expenditure following the relevant BMS and PIE processes

Creating Outline, Technical Requirement and Planning/Requirements Specifications, initial design trilogy comprising process flow diagrams, PFMEA and PCP’s. Providing risk management paperwork for example risk assessments and historical safety analysis

Managing FAT (factory acceptance testing) and IAT (installed article testing) activities, looking after installation and commissioning phases. Then running validation and capability studies to ensure equipment is fit for purpose

To ensure the provision and management of a Safe System of Work (SSOW) and Basis of Safety to include Manufacturing Instructions (SOPs) and General Risk, PUWER and COSHH assessments or other documentation in line with company and statutory requirements

Support the day-to-day manufacture of Washington products and the delivery of the Washington Manufacturing Schedule target of >97%, taking responsibility for the delivery of the process

Your skills and experiences:

Qualification(s) in an engineering discipline (Science or Engineering degree, HNC, HND) or time served in an Engineering discipline with substantial experience

Excellent numeracy and mechanical comprehension

Experience within a manufacturing environment of a similarly highly controlled nature (aerospace, automotive, nuclear, medical devices, etc.)

Ability to produce clear and concise written/visual instructions

The Process Engineering team:

As a Process/Manufacturing Engineer you will manage projects from a technical perspective in support of the Washington site capital expenditure program. You will be involved with developing new or sustaining existing manufacturing processes in line with Engineering KPI’s, plans and budgets. You will develop and establish lean manufacturing processes to safely and reliably meet the daily customer and business expectations in terms of SHE (Safety, Health & Environment), quality, cost, delivery, people and growth.
