About The Program
The Biology Program at CSUCI prepares students for the next step in their careers: to educate and train the next generation of biological scientists and medical professionals. The Biology Program promotes teaching of fundamental and unifying concepts integrated with the practice of analysis and discovery. The Biology Program offers lower and upper division GE courses as well as courses that support other majors including Health Sciences, Nursing and Environmental Sciences and Resource Management.
About The Position
Need an instructor to teach BIOL 500. This elective course was offered several years ago and we are now offering it again in Fall 2023.
Minimum Degree Requirements
PhD in Biology or Biological Sciences
Required Qualifications
The candidate should have a doctorate degree in Biology or any Biological Science field and have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the college or university level.
Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.
Preferred Qualifications
A preferred qualification is experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, specifically in the production and operations side.
Responsibilities
Teach BIOL 500 (a 3 unit Elective course: Introduction to Biopharmaceutical Production Operations) in Fall 2023. The class will be offered once a week from 6-9pm. Instructor will prepare all class material, teach the class and perform assessment.

Compensation
California State University Lecturer Salary (Academic Year). Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range. Ranges include Range 2, Range 3, Range 4, Range 5.

At time of appointment, the successful candidate, if not a U.S. citizen, must have authorization to work in the United States.
