Overview

Post Doctoral Researcher role in the Division of Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine. This position supports specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor. The role involves planning, designing and executing experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the assigned research lab with a focus on autoimmunity; collecting and analyzing data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and institutions; identifying and selecting problems to be studied; developing and troubleshooting new experimental techniques and protocols; attending research seminars; contributing to manuscript preparation and supporting technical writing; participating in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; and performing additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Plan, design and execute experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the assigned research lab.

Focus on autoimmunity-related studies within the Division of Rheumatology.

Collect and analyze data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and institutions.

Identify and select problems to be studied; develop and troubleshoot new experimental techniques and protocols.

Attend research seminars; contribute to manuscript preparation and technical writing.

Participate in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Biological Sciences required.

Successful completion of a background check required.

Selected candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
