Job Summary:
Provide peer support services as part of a multidisciplinary team to individuals with mental illness and/or substance use disorders. Services focus on enhancing recovery through individualized or group support.
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching, and support to patients.
Train patients in utilizing personal and community resources effectively.
Assist in building formal and informal community support networks.
Help patients increase social support from relatives, friends, or significant others.
Offer encouragement and support during crisis situations.
Advocate for patients’ rights and assist in reducing stigma associated with behavioral health conditions.
Collaborate with providers, family members, and significant others involved in patients’ recovery plans.
Attend staff meetings, case conferences, and individual/group supervision sessions.
Uphold confidentiality standards related to clinical information and treatment both internally and with external parties.
Understand and adhere to patients’ rights policies and procedures.
Participate in staff training, development, and agency committees.
Maintain professional standards in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Conduct.
Comply with and understand the Housing Manual.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (Adult) issues by the state of Ohio required.
Skills Required:
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and individuals.
Familiarity with Franklin County community resources
