Description
Position Summary: Buckey Body is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lot Technician to manage vehicle movement, inventory organization, and logistics on our property. This role is responsible for receiving and releasing vehicles, parking and organizing them efficiently, conducting lot audits, and ensuring smooth vehicle flow into and out of production areas. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable operating commercial vehicles, and committed to maintaining an efficient and orderly lot.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Receiving & Releasing:
Inspect and log incoming vehicles upon arrival, verifying condition and documentation.
Release vehicles to customers, transporters, or internal teams, ensuring all paperwork is properly completed.
Coordinate with drivers and vendors to streamline vehicle drop-off and pick-up.
Lot Organization & Inventory Management:
Efficiently park and organize vehicles to maximize space and facilitate easy access.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle locations and on-lot inventory.
Identify and report any misplaced, missing, or damaged vehicles.
Shop Support & Vehicle Movement:
Pull vehicles into and out of the shop as needed to support production workflow.
Stage vehicles for work, ensuring they are positioned correctly for technicians.
Assist with moving and positioning vehicles for customer deliveries.
Lot Audits & Maintenance:
Perform regular audits to verify vehicle counts and ensure proper documentation.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lot, including clearing debris and ensuring clear pathways.
Report any lot maintenance or security concerns to management.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
· Experience in vehicle handling, fleet management, or a related role preferred.
· Ability to safely operate and maneuver commercial vehicles, including trucks and vans.
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required; CDL is a plus.
· Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
· Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
· Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
