NS2 Mission is seeking a driven and innovative Data Scientist to support our team in Reston, VA with a cutting-edge cloud-based search and analytics platform. This role offers the opportunity to design and build data-driven solutions that empower users to discover and leverage high-value data at scale.Position Overview:

Collaborate with team members to define requirements, design features, and build advanced search and discovery capabilities.

Apply your data science expertise to develop AI/ML features on structured data, and integrate them into application services.

Partner with data engineers on data modeling and ETL pipelines to transform raw data into usable, enriched datasets.

Contribute to the long-term technical vision and roadmap to enhance performance, usability, and innovation across our systems.

Support development and O&M activities, debug issues, and maintain system documentation.Required Qualifications:

12+ years of relevant experience in software/data development

Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle on cloud infrastructure

Proficiency in programming with Python, Java, or similar languages

Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques

Hands-on experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs

Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases

Knowledge of software practices and configuration management

Familiarity with tools like Jira, Git, and JFrog Artifactory

Experience delivering large, mission-critical software projects

Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environmentDesired Qualifications:

Experience with person/entity resolution across datasets

Experience with data visualization frameworks (e.g., D3.js, Chartkick, V Charts)

Experience with Graph databases

Experience with Elasticsearch

Experience building and managing ETL pipelines

Experience in an Agile development environment
