Location: Cape Town, South Africa (with travel across Southern African markets)

As part of its ongoing growth journey, the company is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager (Polymers) to join its team in Cape Town. This role will focus on expanding business across Southern Africa, leveraging technical expertise and strong market knowledge to deliver commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Development:

Drive sales growth by achieving volume, revenue, and margin targets across assigned territories

Proactively identify and develop new customers, distributors, and market opportunities

Lead negotiations, prepare compelling proposals, and successfully close deals

Technical Expertise & Support:

Act as a trusted advisor by providing technical guidance on PP & PE applications, with a focus on metallocene-based products

Partner with customers and distributors to support product adoption and technical requirements

Reporting & Stakeholders:

Maintain a strong sales pipeline and deliver regular activity and market reports

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely order fulfilment

Market Development:

Champion the introduction and growth of ExxonMobil metallocene products across key geographies, driving adoption and market share

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Bachelors Degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline

Solid track record working with PP & PE product portfolios; prior exposure to metallocene technology is a strong advantage

Around 58 years of proven experience in technical sales or business development within the polymer industry, including polymer raw material manufacturing, trading companies, or the polymer packaging sector

In-depth knowledge of polymer processing techniques such as film extrusion, injection moulding, and blow moulding

Familiarity with Southern African markets will be considered an asset
