Job Description

I am recruiting on behalf of a leading international contractor delivering a major hyperscale data centre project in Düsseldorf. We are looking for an experienced EHS (Health, Safety & Environment) Manager to join the team immediately, overseeing the groundworks and enabling package of this flagship build.

Key Responsibilities

Lead site-wide Environmental, Health & Safety management during groundworks/enabling phase

Ensure full compliance with German and EU HSE legislation

Develop and implement Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and toolbox talks

Carry out site inspections, audits, and weekly reporting

Promote a strong safety culture and coach site teams in best-practice standards

Liaise with project leadership, subcontractors, and client representatives on all HSE matters

Requirements

8–10+ years’ HSE experience within large construction projects (data centre, industrial, pharma, or civils)

NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent recognised HSE qualification (German equivalent desirable)

Strong knowledge of German construction safety regulations

Experience managing HSE on Tier 1 contractor projects highly advantageous

English essential; German language skills an advantage

Ability to mobilise immediately and work site-based in Düsseldorf
