Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Value Stream Operator to join our team at Accutrol. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling parts and raw materials to form complete units or sub-assemblies utilizing lean methods, standard work, quality documents, and on-the-job training.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Ensure all skills are utilized to produce a defect free product and solve problems in time
Utilize hand tools, light power tools, and other special equipment to perform assigned assembly operations; may receive direction in the form of verbal or written instructions and may refer to technical drawings, catalog information or quality documents to compete assigned work
Ensure the quality of all items produced in their area and maintain proper documentation of defects
Follow work instructions and training guides
Maintain condition of work area and keep free of potential hazards
Maintain an organized and clean work area
Perform basic cleaning and preventive maintenance checks of equipment as required
Make recommendations for and assist in the implementation of production process improvements to enhance workflow performance
Cross train within assigned product group and rotate assignments per plan
Perform daily safety checks on assigned equipment
Follow safety rules and wear prescribed personal protective equipment
Identify workflow problems and notify the support team as they occur
All other related duties as required
Knowledge and Skills Requirement:
Assist in meeting Value Stream goals
Sufficient visual ability to identify and sort by specifications
Ability to stand and perform job duties during shift
Good hand-to-eye coordination and dexterity
The ability to perform repetitive operations
Must be able to read a tape measure
Must be able to read and understand English
Good communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
Able to give constructive feedback and coaching to peers. Open to receiving feedback from others
Be proficient in the application of lean tools
Exhibit problem-solving skills
Follow keys to team interaction
Possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job-related skills
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School education or an equivalence of a G.E.D.
Required experience or abilities to carry out the Value Stream Operator responsibilities
