Specific Responsibilities

The EH&S Supervisor for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s EH&S team at the company’s Aberdeen office reporting to the EH&S Snr Manager. This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

Compliance

Ensure adherence to local and international HSE standards and best practices, working closely with Compliance role to co-ordinate engagement with regulatory bodies.

Ensure asset compliance with current legislative requirements and implement any necessary changes to ensure continued compliance with any forthcoming legislative or industry changes.

Risk Management

Specifically support the Apache assets with Health and Safety matters, being the primary onshore Health & Safety focal point for asset personnel

Review asset-wide accident/incident information statistics and Observation data to identify trends

Develop campaigns in conjunction with other asset EHS Advisors to highlight performance and develop methods to address identified issues.

Provide, produce and support in presenting material associated with incident/accident reduction, legislative changes, or health issues

Assist operations teams in risk assessment activities, supporting the Occupational Health Advisor in issues including but not limited to COSHH, manual handling, PUWER, hand arm vibration, asbestos and radiation management etc.

Provide Status Reports as required

Act as primary Contractor Interface for your assets

Incidents, Incident Investigation & Action Close-out

Review all asset pre-notifications and discuss, as appropriate, with the asset to confirm classifications remain correct. Assist asset with preparation of any regulatory notifications (e.g. ROGI) for review by EHS Manager or Deputy prior to submission to HSE/OPRED

Liaise with contract companies to ensure accuracy of incident information held by both Apache and the contractor companies

Review all asset investigation reports, with involvement in the incident investigation wherever appropriate.

Ensure asset investigation reports and related documentation are being correctly input to the Enablon system and actioned accordingly

Safety Management System

Conduct review and amendment process to ensure legal and other compliance in respect of all aspects of occupational health and safety management. Instigate formal procedural updates as required within the Business Management System (BMS)

Regulatory Inspections

Participate in Regulatory Inspection Meetings, including gathering of pre-inspection data to be available to the Regulator

Support the assets during planned regulatory inspections, facilitating inspections as required

Co-ordinate Apache responses to formal Regulatory data requests for on pass to the EHS Manager / Compliance Officer for formal submission

Auditing

Support asset audit schedule covering all key risk areas

Action management within appropriate tracking system to ensure timely and effective closure of actions

Participate in EHS audits of key contractors as part of the EHS Department audit schedule

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

NEBOSH or relevant NVQ Qualifications

Experience working for and/or with large energy companies that have worldwide assets and operations

Working knowledge of ISSOW

Lead auditor training

Has completed Incident Investigation Training, including root cause analysis

Demonstrated ability to build relationships with peers across an organization

Experience implementing sound decisions when faced with multi-faceted problems
