Position Title: Assistant Director of SSE Communications & Operations Department: Student Success & Engagement (SSE) Reports To: VP for Student Success & Engagement Position Summary The Assistant Director of SSE Communications & Operations plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the Student Success and Engagement (SSE) division.

This position is responsible for leading and executing the division's communication strategy to students, overseeing key operational processes, and providing support to the Vice President for Student Success and Engagement.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for crafting and implementing communication initiatives that inform, engage, and support students throughout their academic journey.

Additionally, the Assistant Director will manage operational tasks to help ensure the SSE division is running effectively.

Duties/Responsibilities 1.

Student Communication & Engagement: * Provide leadership in the development and execution of a comprehensive student communication plan, ensuring timely and relevant information reaches the appropriate student audiences.

* Manage and coordinate all mass communication channels directed toward students.

Collaborate with departments across campus, including Enrollment Management & Marketing (EM&M) and Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC), to integrate communications into the overall university communication strategy.

* Collaborate with EM&M and OMC to ensure consistent brand messaging and effective communication strategies.

* Draft and refine key messages on behalf of the division, ensuring alignment with current university brand guidelines, identity, and divisional goals.

* Oversee the scheduling and delivery of email, text, and digital signage communications to students.

* Identify and develop content for the SSE Divisional Newsletter, working with the VP of SSE to highlight programmatic successes and important division updates for broad distribution.

* Manage and update content for Rise Vision (digital signage) displays within the SSE division to ensure information is timely and engaging.

* Oversee and coordinate all SSE-related email communications to students, staff, and faculty, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and a professional tone.

Division Operations & Support: * Coordinate logistics for meetings, conferences, workshops, and other events for the SSE division.

* Serve on the Commencement Committee, coordinating SSE-related communication and logistical support for graduating students.

* Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks, including managing invoices, tracking expenses, and assisting with budget preparation.

* Track and reconcile division expenses, following up on the processing of expense reports.

* Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing employees, including coordinating with Physical Plant, IT, and Human Resources.

Project & Task Management: * Manage short term and long-term projects that aid in communication efforts or operational function within the SSE division, including but not limited to student engagement/communication platforms.

* Manage day-to-day tasks as required to keep division running efficiently.

Other Duties: * Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the VP for Student Success and Engagement.

Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree required.

* Proven administrative experience (3+ years). * Demonstrated experience in student communication, marketing, or a related field.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including strong writing and presentation skills.

* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Attention to detail and accuracy.

* Demonstrated ability to manage time-sensitive processes and projects.

Preferred Qualifications * Familiarity with student information systems (SIS) and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms is a plus.

* Basic Knowledge of HTML (preferred). * Experience with data analysis and reporting is a plus.
