Hennepin County District Court invites qualified applicants for a Court Operations Supervisor position in Juvenile Court.

The Court Operations Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the Juvenile Division: planning, supervising and reviewing the functions and daily operations of personnel; establishing workloads and schedules; analyzing and streamlining work processes, and developing procedural manuals for assisting employees in processing records; assisting in the development of strategic goals and overseeing implementation at the divisional level; and working with the public, judges, court staff, partnering criminal justice departments and county or state agencies to ensure that records are processed in a timely and accurate manner that is consistent with the Court's mission and vision.
The Juvenile team works in a Results Only Work Environment, which allows flexibility in meeting court goals.
Juvenile court has 10 judicial officers, supported by a hybrid model of judicial and administrative staff.
This position will supervise staff clerking the courtroom, counter, and office as well as staff supporting judicial officers directly.
This position is located in the Juvenile Justice Center, 590 Park Avenue, Downtown Minneapolis.
Typical hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM but may vary depending on the assignment and operational needs.
This position will work primarily onsite, with some flexibility to work remotely, depending on assignments and business needs.
Initial interviews will be conducted remotely.
Example of Duties * Plan, coordinate, supervise and review the functions and daily operations of district court personnel in the Juvenile Court division; establish clear expectations, workloads and schedules.
* Select, coach, mentor, develop and evaluate the performance of staff according to set standards; act as an effective role model to staff in all areas; assist in developing orientation, training programs, and reference documentation for employees.
* Utilize collaborative communication techniques to respond to and manage day-to-day issues brought by judicial officers, staff, customers, and related county and/or state agencies; answer inquiries relative to the policy, practice, and procedures of the court.
* Represent the Fourth District and act as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, county specific and statewide committees and workgroups with regard to Juvenile Division policy, practice and procedures of the court.
* Make data informed decisions regarding processes and procedures to effectively accomplish the mission of the courts consistent with established policies and priorities.
* Develop, provide recommendations and oversee the implementation of new/revised policies and procedures in the division, as well as determine methods and procedures to effectively accomplish the mission of the courts consistent with established policies, values, and goals within the strategic plan.
* Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Typical Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: Below are the past experiences that will enable success in the role.
For education requirements listed, the equivalent number of years of related experience may serve as a substitute.
* High school diploma or graduation from a vocational school or equivalent.
* Two years of experience as a supervisor, Court Operations Leadworker, Court Operations Specialist, Court Operations Associate, or equivalent work in a court, legal setting, or other fast-paced, high-volume, and technology-dependent environment.
* As this position may be working partially remotely, access to a reliable internet connection is required during this time.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to train, motivate, coach, and mentor staff.

* Ability to supervise the work of others to meet the needs/goals of larger group.
* Professional communication, interpersonal and human relations skills.
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software, with the ability to learn new technology.

* Ability to exercise independent judgment and use discretion in applying and interpreting policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications: * Possession of a Paralegal, Associate, or bachelor's degree.
* Knowledge and/or experience of effective supervisory and management techniques.
* Skill in effective team building, planning and/or supervising the work of others.
* Advanced customer service delivery which includes professional communication, interpersonal and human relations skills.
* General understanding of principles and practices of court proceedings, applicable statutes and rules and record management.
* Experience researching and analyzing problems, put effective changes into practice, measure performance and ensure compliance.
* Knowledge and experience working with electronic filing (eFile and eService) the Minnesota case management system (MNCIS), SharePoint, Application Extender (AX), and other eCourt technologies.
Supplemental Information The expected starting salary range for external candidates is $34.40 (range minimum)-$43.83 (range midpoint) per hour ($71,827 - $91,517 annually). The full salary range for this position is $34.40 (range minimum)-$53.25 (range maximum) per hour ($71,827 - $111,186 annually). This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of MN employee benefits.
