Technologist Trainee

The Integrated Genetics division (part of LabCorp's Specialty Testing Group) has an exciting opportunity for a Technologist Trainee in Santa Fe, NM.

We are a fast-paced diagnostic testing facility performing chromosome analysis on various tissue types.

This position will include various wet lab procedures, troubleshooting, quality control, and microscopic analysis.

As a Technologist Trainee you will be able to participate in LabCorp's in-house training program for the field of Cytogenetics and become certified in Cytogenetics.

Receive in depth training and preparation for the ASCP board of examination and certification (ASCP-CG). The schedule for this position will be Monday to Friday.

Hours can vary depending on business need.

Ability to work overtime and weekends is required.

Responsibilities: * Production and aliquoting of cytogenetic media and reagents * Validation of cytogenetic media and reagents/ statistical analysis * Harvest adhesion and suspension cultures that result in slide preparations * Chromosome analysis using microscopy and computer imaging system * Facilitate or perform calibration of pipettes, thermometers, and other instruments * Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures * Wash, sterilize, and process laboratory dishware * Perform general lab support duties * Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Requirements: * B.A./B.S.
