Description of Position Position Supervisor: CLI Director or Designee Department/Office: Center for Learning and Innovation This position will gain marketable work experience by supporting Yavapai College's Center for Learning and Innovation (CLI). Student Fellows are student employees who serve as ambassadors, peer assistants, and innovators within the CLI.
They help run the center's daily operations, guide visitors through CLI spaces, support programs that strengthen student success, faculty development, emerging technologies, innovative spaces, outreach, and institutional support.
In return, Fellows gain valuable professional skills in leadership, communication, customer service, technology, teamwork, and content creation.
The CLI Student Fellow will: * Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, community members, and external visitors using CLI spaces.
* Conduct tours of the CLI, communicating its vision, mission, and pillars to diverse audiences.
* Highlight features of CLI hubs (Resource & Study Hub, Faculty Support Hub, Innovative Technologies Hub, and Community Engagement Hub) during tours.
* Provide peer-level assistance with learning technologies (Canvas, study tools, media equipment, VR/AR, etc.). * Support day-to-day operations in CLI spaces, including study hubs, emerging technology labs and spaces, and community rooms.
* Assist with events, workshops, and training sessions hosted in CLI spaces.
* Help with content creation - including digital media, marketing materials, photography, video, and social media projects that promote the CLI.
* Support visitors, partners, and programs across the institution in collaboration with other departments.
* Maintain collaborative spaces, equipment, and technology-enabled classrooms.
* Serve as a student voice, contributing feedback and fresh ideas for innovation.
Minimum Expectations & Requirements: All hiring documents must be completed prior to first work shift, including acceptable documentation for the I-9 Form.
This is a Federal Work Study (FWS) eligible only position.
Students must be FWS eligible as determined by the FAFSA, this means applicants must: * Have current aid year FAFSA verified and on file at Yavapai College * Be enrolled in at least six credits, of which one course must be going toward your program if study * Be in good financial aid standing at Yavapai College * Have unmet need as determined by the FAFSA * Be receiving their financial aid from Yavapai College * In addition student employees will: * Work with a diverse student population * Exhibit patience and a positive attitude in an academic learning environment * Demonstrate reliability and good customer service skills * Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills * Demonstrate time management and organizational skills, and ability to complete a variety of tasks on immediate or extended timelines * Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner * Adhere to the code of confidentiality in certain cases where discretion should be used * Adhere to Yavapai College Code of Conduct as well as FERPA guidelines * Have a strong understanding of technology and the ability to use it effectively and efficiently * Must have the following skills/characteristics: leadership, dependability, initiative, enthusiasm, discipline and willingness to grow both personally and professionally.
The start date, to occur no sooner than July 1st of the current aid year, of this position will be determined by the hiring supervisor after an applicant is hired.
This position has a standard end of assignment date of June 30th of the current aid year.
Assignment may end sooner or be extended depending FWS eligibility, availability and/or department need.
