More about the position As a key member of our tiered regional marketing team, the De Novo Community Engagement Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the successful launch of new Heartland Dental supported offices.
Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, this position is focused on building strong community connections and driving awareness through strategic local engagement initiatives.
The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for educating local audiences, fostering relationships with community partners, and executing grassroots marketing strategies that position each de novo opening for long-term success.
This role is instrumental in creating a welcoming and recognizable presence for each new office, ensuring it enters the market with strong community support and visibility.
By collaborating closely with the team of de novo marketing strategists, operations, and supported doctors, the Community Engagement Specialist helps shape the local identity of each office while maintaining alignment with Heartland Dental's broader brand standards.
This high-impact role blends community outreach, event coordination, and localized marketing to create meaningful connections that drive patient growth and brand loyalty from day one.
Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role: * Educate and support dental office partners on best practices for building authentic local relationships and brand presence within their communities.
* Guide teams in leveraging demographic data and local insights to inform strategic community engagement efforts tailored to each market.
* Collaborate with dental office partners to implement localized engagement strategies that align with patient demographics, competitive dynamics, and growth potential.
* Instill a strong understanding of Heartland Dental's brand standards while encouraging creative approaches that reflect the uniqueness of each local market.
* Partner with office teams to ensure that local engagement initiatives - from community events to referral programs - reflect the office's values and voice.
* Support pre-opening marketing efforts by helping offices execute community-facing activities that build awareness and connection prior to launch.
* Serve as a resource and coach for teams on how to maintain ongoing visibility and community relevance beyond the initial opening period.
* Help office partners identify and activate grassroots opportunities that increase early brand exposure and drive new patient growth.
* Provide strategic guidance on local engagement tools and tactics, from partnerships with local businesses to involvement in neighborhood events.
* Act as a connector between central marketing support and local teams, helping bridge strategy and execution to ensure meaningful, community-aligned presence from day one.
* Other projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications * 1-3 years demonstrated professional growth in multi-unit organizations.
* 1-3 years of hands-on experience developing and implementing integrated marketing campaigns.
* Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or communications or 2+ years of experience in Marketing * A creative and curious team player with a strong interest in building local brand presence and community connection.
* Able to learn from local market data and trends to help support office-level marketing and grassroots engagement strategies.
* Comfortable working in a collaborative environment and supporting cross-functional teams through clear communication and a solutions-oriented mindset.
* Experience working in a support or coordination role where strong relationships and the ability to explain ideas helped move projects forward.
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
* Eager to grow in a role that combines marketing, community engagement, and local strategy.
