Job Description Summary
The purpose of this job is to document and produce informational, educational, promotional, and multimedia projects for the City of Columbia.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description
Writes, produces, shoots, and edits video stories to promote city programs, activities, and events.
Develop relationships with city employees and individuals within the community to develop story ideas and update the production calendar.
Utilizes video production skills, including directing, producing, script writing, editing, recording, and multi-camera livestreaming of public meetings.
Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Film Production, Journalism, or related field.
3 to 5 years of experience in video editing or a related field.
Licenses or Certifications
Valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position

Adobe Premiere software.
Audio/visual equipment.

Incumbent required to grasp, push, drive, reach with hands/arms, stoop/crouch, and climb/balance.
Incumbent must have clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision to expertly shoot video.
Hours/Days
General hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evenings and weekends as needed for public meetings and special events.
Starting Salary
Minimum: $20.24/hour to Midpoint: $24.89/hour; Commensurate with training/education and experience
