Immediate Manager: Senior Adoptions Specialist
Availability: The schedule for this role is Tuesday - Saturday, with some occasional evening work. Work hours may be affected by special events, adoption events or other department requirements.
General Position Summary: This exciting role provides the unique opportunity for building knowledge and experience in many aspects of animal welfare including animal behavior and temperament, industry standards and best practices, and setting animals up for success with their new families. The Adoptions Coordinator guides adopters through the adoption process - not only do you have the opportunity to help animals in your community, you also get to meet incredible families and help create lasting memories!

Essential Function/Major Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Communication
Collaborates with adopters to gather information, provide suggestions, and educate about adoption
Provides excellent customer service to all visitors with a positive, patient, non-judgemental attitude
Answers phone, email, and in-person communications with timeliness & kindness
Adoption Programming
Engage in collaborative conversations with adopters to set them and their new animal up for success
Review animal & adopter information to suggest appropriate matches
Finalizes adoptions including completing necessary paperwork
Promotes adoption policies that seek to remove barriers to adoption that do not correlate to better outcomes such as landlord, reference, veterinarian, or credit checks or home visits
Advocates for Brother Wolf's mission to save the greatest number of lives possible through strategic, creative, and impactful programming
Coordinates and attends off-site adoption events as needed
Administration & Record Keeping
Ensures files are appropriately maintained and organized & conducts audits as necessary
Updates shelter animal database to accurately capture animals' locations, statuses, and other relevant information
Provides administrative support across functions and departments
Fill in for other areas and performs other tasks/functions as needed
Problem-Solving
Sees challenges and mistakes as opportunities
Asks open-ended, strategic questions to gather information from adopters and provide suggestions and information
Manages several projects at once, managing time and prioritizing tasks as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to read, write, and understand English with excellent written & verbal communication required
1+ year of experience in customer service, office administration, hospitality, or similar
Proficiency in basic computer skills & programs including Google G Suite required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Physical ability to walk and or stand on your feet throughout a normal workday required. Ability to bend and squat. Physical ability to engage in repetitive motions of legs, arms, and hands and to hear and see clearly.
Allergic conditions, which may be aggravated when handling or working with animals, may be a disqualification.
Strongly Encouraged to Apply:

Working conditions:
Conditions may include working alone, working inside or outside during varying weather conditions, frequent interruptions, and some evenings/weekends meetings and classes.
Educational Requirements:
High school graduation required.
