Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with an engineering service provider to support their search for a Piping Designer to join their clients project based in the Rhineland-Palatinate region on an initial 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and review vendor drawings and P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams).
Generate isometric drawings and equipment layouts based on process documentation and vendor data.
Develop detailed 3D models of piping systems, equipment, and supports.
Conduct site surveys and system walkdowns to produce sketch isometrics.
Perform clash detection and resolve piping interferences.
Prepare material take-offs for procurement and construction planning.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design accuracy and project alignment.
Required Experience & Skills
Sufficient years of piping design experience, ideally within pharmaceutical or other highly regulated process environments.
Strong proficiency in 3D design tools such as Plant 3D, Navisworks, CADWorx, Revit, and ACC.
Familiarity with cleanroom piping design, specifications, and construction standards.
Solid understanding of current piping codes and industry standards.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced project environment.
Fluent in both German and English (written and verbal).
High attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Relevant qualification in piping or mechanical engineering preferred.
