Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Food Bank Coordinator will be the operator of the Food Bank. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Participating in researching, developing, and delivering individual and group programming for residents related to healthy nutrition, budgeting, and food preparation.
Cleaning and maintaining necessary standard of cleanliness of the food bank all in accordance with accepted health and safety standards.
Current certification in Safe Food Handling.
Knowledge of and commitment to working within an anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework.
Working knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide.
Experience in individual and group facilitation skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills along with the ability to multi-task.
Current and informed knowledge of the needs of diverse groups, such as disability, sexual orientation, survivors of trauma, mental health issues, and addiction issues.
Unloading, sorting, checking best before dates of products and packing hampers.
Grocery shopping and ability to budget.
Reporting to Government programs.
Data entry with Microsoft Office experience.
Excellent communication skills
Good Culture, non-judgmental and respectful to others.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Director
