General Summary:
This position works under the direction of the Residential Services Director. Determines appropriateness of patient referral. Follows treatment candidates through referral, precertification, and admission process. Coordinates and performs assessment/admission day activities and process. including social history interview. Communicates with the public regarding program, admission criteria, available openings, etc. Work with therapist to complete Psychosocial assessments. Assist with residential treatment programming by helping with groups and helping with cases as directed by supervisor.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Reviews initial referrals to determine eligibility and appropriate level of care and assesses the needs of potential patients.
Reviews active applicant files as needed to ensure optimal follow-up and response of referrals that need clinical evaluation for appropriateness of our program and to ensure that the programming will be able to meet the client's clinical needs.
Coordinates and schedules admission dates and times with guardian and designated team members, including Psychiatrist and Clinical Therapist.
Verifies funding sources availability and school status prior to scheduling admission.
Acts as liaison with all departments and works with the multi-disciplinary team; directs assessment activities among disciplines.
Ensures that incoming patient information is available in a timely manner to designated clinical team.
Communicates information to agencies, parents, guardians, patients, etc. in an accurate and professional manner.
Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with patients, families, law enforcement, caseworkers, court officials, team members and other professionals and providers and the community in general. This includes phone calls, faxes, electronic mail, etc.
Completes pre-assessment interviews with client to clinically determine their appropriateness to the program.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong written and verbal skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, licensed associates and the general public
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Basic understanding of calculation of figures
Education and/or Experience:
Must be a qualified mental health professional as defined by state standards. Past experience in mental health and utilization of community resources is preferred. Must have one of the following current credentials: Master's Degree in Social Work and licensed by the state of Arkansas; or Master's Degree and licensed by the State of Arkansas as a Psychological Examiner; or Master's Degree and a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Associate Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist by the State of Arkansas.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Team members are required to sit, stand, talk, see, walk and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to personally restrain patients.Must maintain a current tuberculosis skin test. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Founded in 1966, Youth Home, Inc., located in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a private non-profit mental health provider. In the mid-1980's, Youth Home's program developed into a medical model directed by child and adolescent psychiatrists.
